Laurie Kominiarek of Manchester, a student at Finger Lakes Community College, was awarded a $1,000 scholarship from the SUNY Financial Aid Professionals organization.
The competitive scholarship goes to students who show financial need and academic achievement and who complete a 500-word essay. Kominiarek, a business administration major, has a 3.65 GPA and was named to the spring 2012 dean’s list at FLCC.
The SUNY Financial Aid Professionals organization grants only two scholarships statewide each year, one to a two-year college student and one to a four-year college student.
