Learn Finger Lakes history at FLCC in Geneva

Preston Pierce
Preston Pierce, the Ontario County historian and an adjunct professor at Finger Lakes Community College, will teach a course called History of the Finger Lakes on Tuesday evenings, starting Aug. 30, from 6 to 8:50 p.m. at the FLCC Geneva Campus Center, 63 Pulteney St.
The three-credit course interprets state and national history from the local point of view, emphasizing the Finger Lakes region. The local orientation will be treated through an interdisciplinary methodology with multimedia presentations (slides, movies, sound, etc.) combined with lectures for each segment.
History of the Finger Lakes provides a solid background in local history for tourism industry employees and residents who want to learn more about the region.
The registration deadline is Aug. 26.  For information, call FLCC’s One Stop Center, at (585) 785-1000 or e-mail to onestop@flcc.edu.
