Brittany Card of Waterloo, a 2011 FLCC graduate, received an Academic Achievement in Psychology award from The Committee of Psychology Teachers at Community Colleges of The American Psychological Association.
Card, daughter of Greggory and Mary Card, graduated in May with an associate degree in liberal arts and sciences. She was nominated for the psychology award by Linda Ross, Psy.D., assistant professor of psychology.
“She is an exceptional student who currently has a 4.0 GPA and is a member of Phi Theta Kappa,” said Ross, referring to the honor society for two-year colleges. “In addition to her exceptional academic career, Brittany is a dedicated volunteer in the community. Specifically, the Geneva General Childcare Center affiliated with Geneva General Hospital has enjoyed the volunteer services provided by Brittany for the past eight years.”
Card will transfer to Keuka College and major in psychology with a concentration in child and family studies. Keuka College has also selected her to receive an academic achievement scholarship for 2011-2012.
