Chorale looking for new voices

Dennis Maxfield directs the Finger Lakes Chorale at its 40th anniversary concert in May. For more photos of the chorale, click here.

Those who enjoy singing popular rock songs from the ’50s to ’70s and Broadway show tunes will want to be part of the Finger Lakes Chorale summer season.

Under the direction of Dennis Maxfield, the Chorale will give a performance in August called “We Will Rock You: Music of Broadway and Rock ’n’ Roll.”

Rehearsals will be held Tuesdays from 7 to 9 p.m. beginning June 21 at Finger Lakes Community College, room B355, 3325 Marvin Sands Drive, Canandaigua.

Registration will be held before rehearsal on June 21. Singers should arrive early to complete the registration process. A $5 non-credit registration fee is payable at the first rehearsal.
Prior choral singing experience is preferred but not required.

The Chorale will perform “We Will Rock You” on Aug. 20 and 21 at Canandaigua Academy.

The Finger Lakes Chorale is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year.  It is comprised of singers from communities in the Finger Lakes area.

For more information about the Chorale, contact Dennis Maxfield at (585) 396-0027.
