FLCC, New York Wine and Culinary Center offer new wine classes


Jan. 15, 2-4 p.m.: Wine & Food Flavor Pairing: Some wine and food pairings are better than others. Participants will taste six different food flavors and see how they pair with six wines. The cost is $40.

Jan. 30, 12:30-2:30 p.m.: Wine 101: This entertaining class will provide all the "need to know" information about wine: profiles of major grape varieties and wine styles, how to store, how to serve, detecting faults, reading labels, ordering in a restaurant, whether or not to age it, and more.  The cost is $40 and includes a tasting of 10 wines and a small cheese plate.

Feb. 6, 1-2 p.m.: Wine & Chocolate Pairing: Sample three New York wines paired with three gourmet chocolate desserts prepared by the Culinary Center pastry chef.  The cost is $20 and includes the wine and chocolate.
